    Pioneering Enterprise Networking in India
  • Microland was incorporated in 1989 to address the enterprise networking opportunity in India.
    Microland sets up Network Operations Centres in Bangalore, Chennai and Bombay.
  • Microland signs its first international alliance with Novell Netware in 1989.
    Microland signed strategic partnerships with ComputerLand, one of the world’s largest network integrators with revenues of US $2.6 billion and with Compaq Computers, a US $3.3 billion computer manufacturer, as their partners for the Indian market.
  • Microland bags one of the largest orders in the area of networking from Bank of America for installing a nationwide Wide Area Network (WAN).
    Microland signed strategic partnerships with ComputerLand, one of the world’s largest n 1992, Connectivity India was launched as Microland’s annual technology conference showcasing global products and technologies in India, and featuring speakers from Compaq, Novell and sco. Held in Mumbai, it was among the biggest networking and communications events at that time. It soon was described as the ‘crystal ball’ for the IT industry — it had the ability to foresee the future.
  • 1993 - 1997
    Becoming India’s #1 Networking Company
  • In 1993, to provide comprehensive networking solutions, Microland needed to partner with a networking equipment maker that was a leader in Ethernet LAN hubs. Microland establishes partnerships with US based Synoptics Communications Inc. and Cisco Systems.
  • The second edition of Connectivity India was held in New Delhi, in 1993.
    With the anticipated arrival of leased lines and paging networks, India needed multiplexers. Microland tied up with Micom, a US$ 300 million company to introduce Micom multiplexers into India in 1994.
  • In 1994, Microland holds the third edition of Connectivity India – India’s first international conference-cum-exhibition of computer networking in Bangalore, attended by over 700 delegates.
    Microland entered a partnership with Lotus Development Corporation in 1994, to launch Lotus Notes in India.
  • Microland launched MicroTech, India’s first Proof of Concept Centre in Bangalore, in 1995, to demonstrate to customers the feasibility of implementing networking technologies in their organisations.
    Microland launched Internetworking India conferences to create awareness about Wide Area Networking and its deployment in user organisations.
  • The fourth edition of Connectivity India in Bangalore attracts well over 1200 participants in 1995.
    Spotting the change in the currency of information, in 1995, Microland tied up with Netscape Communications to bring Netscape Navigator to India.
  • By 1996, the revenues crossed Rs. 1,000 million, marking Microland as the fastest Indian IT company to reach Rs. 1,000 million. It was voted the Best Networking Company of India. Microland was also ranked at #8 in the ISCW rankings and #21 in the Dataquest rankings.
    The second edition of Internetworking India conferences was held in 1995.
  • To address the growing need for security with the advent of the network and the Internet, Microland went and forged a partnership with CheckPoint Software Technologies, a Tel Aviv, Israel-headquartered company in early 1996.
    In 1996, the fifth edition of Connectivity India was held in Bangalore with 40 speakers from 34 global companies and 1500 delegates.
  • Microland become ISO 9001-certified and became the first IT company to get a multisite, multi-process certificate for its services.
    Microland launched India’s first Internet Forum called Internet India.
    In 1997, Microland hosts Bill Gates on his first visit to India, where he addresses Microland’s flagship conference titled ‘Enterprise Tomorrow. Today’ in Mumbai attended by over 500 of India’s top CEOs.
  • The sixth edition of Connectivity India was held in Bangalore in 1997.
    Microland signs a strategic alliance with Computer Associates, one of the world’s largest independent software companies, in 1998.
  • 1998 - 2001
    Pioneering the Indian Internet Economy
  • Microland was set to reposition itself as a pioneer of the Internet economy in India.
    In 1997, Planetasia.com was launched as India’s first Internet business solutions company.
    In 1998, the seventh edition of Connectivity India was held in Bangalore featuring 30 international speakers over 75 sessions for over 600 delegates.
    The first edition of India Internet World 98 was held in New Delhi. The conference had 25,000 visitors.
    In 1999, India’s first technology portal ITspace.com was launched.
    In 1999, the second edition of IIW was held in New Delhi, where it bagged the Trade Fair Certificate from the US
  • In 2000, Indya.com launched with over 15 interactive services and products across entertainment and leisure, information and knowledge and utilities and services.
    The first edition of India Internet World 98 was held in New Delhi. The conference had 25,000 visitors.

  • Microland restructured to become an Internet Holding company and separated Planetasia.com, Indya.com, ITSpace.com and Net Brahma into independent companies.
    The third edition of IIW 2000 was held in New Delhi with over 120,000 visitors including 1800 delegates and over 30,000 business visitors.
    The fourth edition of IIW 2001 was held in New Delhi. The conference had nine keynote speakers, 75 sessions and 13 tracks.
    Microland sets up a Networking Software company called Net Brahma to build IP-based products for the technology and communications industry.
    Microland launched media2India.net, India’s first Internet Media Company.
  • 2002 - 2006
    Pioneering the Third Wave of Indian IT Outsourcing: Remote Infrastructure Management Services
  • In 2000, Microland was quick to identify the next wave of Outsourcing and set up a remote system management and high-end technology support centre in Bangalore, to manage global IT infrastructure remotely from India. In the late 2000s, this became the next large opportunity for Indian IT Outsourcing Providers.
    Microland became the first company in the country to move into the RIMS space. It acquired a Fortune 100 customer that wanted to leverage India to manage its mail service.
    In 2004, the first dedicated Operations Management Centre was inaugurated in Microland’s offices.
  • Microland was recognised as a contender amongst 14 Global providers by Forrester.
    Microland opened a dedicated centre for providing Remote IMS Service to Serco Solutions, UK.
  • 2007 - 2013
    Leading the Managed IT Infrastructure Services Space
  • In 2007, Microland moved into a new facility in Bangalore, which had India’s first Multi Network Operation Centre (NOC) with Technology Labs and Data Centres.
    In 2009, Microland was ranked #2 amongst Mid-Tier IT Infrastructure Outsourcing Suppliers and was also listed in the Top 10 in Remote Infrastructure Management Outsourcing Provider by Black Book of Outsourcing.
  • In 2010, Microland repositioned itself with 'Extraordinary. Everyday' focusing on achieving Service Excellence.
    In 2010, Global Services 100 rated Microland among the Top 10 Infrastructure Management Vendors.
    Microland was awarded Microsoft’s Best Infrastructure Services Partner in India for the 7th successive year.
    In 2012, Microland entered technology partnerships with AWS, Citrix and VMware. It became Citrix’s first Cloud Advisor Partner in India.
  • In 2011, Microland expanded into UK with a delivery presence in Birmingham as it signed a US$ 55 million contract with Serco to provide integrated onshore-offshore end-to-end infrastructure services.
    Gartner ranked Microland as one of the leading Service Providers in Remote Network and Voice Infrastructure Management Services amongst 11 providers.
    In 2013, Microland expanded its footprint with a multimillion-dollar deal with National Commercial Bank (NCB) in Saudi Arabia.
    Microland achieved a dizzying growth of 7 times in just 7 years.
  • 2014 - 2017
    Pioneering Hybrid IT Infrastructure Services
  • In 2014, Microland V4.0 – India’s first Hybrid IT Infrastructure Services provider and a trusted partner in helping enterprises in their IT-as-a-Service journey – was launched.
    In 2014-2015, Microland opened the fourth state-of-the-art facility at BWTC in Bangalore. The 57,000 sq.ft. facility houses 15 Digital Operation Centres.
  • In 2015, Microland opened branches in Dubai and Saudi Arabia to expand operations in Middle East. Registered subsidiary in Switzerland to serve the Europe market.
    Microland started services for Australian customers in 2015.
    In 2015-2016, Microland received ISO 20000:2011 certifications across all delivery centers and received ISO 27001:2013 certifications for select operations management centers for marquee accounts.
    Formed Microland Foundation, a charitable trust focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, in 2016.
    Microland became the single global infrastructure support partner for a Fortune 20 conglomerate delivering Network Design, Build and Run services across 170+ countries.
  • In 2017, Microland launched the Birmingham center in UK.
    Microland launched industrial IoT services at GE’s Minds + Machines event 2017 in San Francisco.
