Job Description
 Position Objectives and Expectations General
1) Fault management, escalation and reporting of operational outages on all monitored services
2) Identification of faults and prioritization of criticality
3) Escalation to level-3 groups and management of problem through to closure
4) Maintenance of service documentation
5) Execution of defined procedures, and improvement where procedures are weak
6) Good verbal and written communications
1) Shift morning status reporting summaries
2) Shift handover summary reviews
3) Contribute to weekly problem reviews and problem frequency analysis reports
4) Contribute to weekly availability reporting (uptime by service, application and/or server)
5) Contribute to other management reporting as directed by the operations manager
6) Maintenance of systems book and detailed event handling information application by application
  Team Summary
1) The Operations Analyst will report to the Operations Team Leader and perform duties as directed.
2) The Operations Analyst will also indirectly report to Operations Manager.

Shift Analyst abilities
1) Experience of working 24 hour shift rotational and operations shift work
2) Able to operate well under pressure and to work to short-term timescales
3) Flexible and able to respond to changing business requirements.
Good technical knowledge on the broad area of Systems:
1) Broad technical knowledge of server systems, hardware, networks and management of systems
2) Broad knowledge in the application and use of management tools
3) Knowledge of other current and emerging server technologies such as virtualization, and consolidation strategies
