Alok, who played “love guru” for Sunny in his romance with new tech, had one piece of advice: “Never fall in love with a product because tech changes fast. Fall in love with new technologies.” And so goes the story of Sunny’s multi- tech capabilities that came in handy for CSL Behring for whom he designed and deployed an OpenShift production-ready environment. A commerce graduate turned techie, Sunny was amongst the first few members of our Cloud team, back in 2013. Deep tech floats his boat, and clearly the project at CSL Behring had all the right motivations for Sunny. As the tech landscape keeps changing one of the biggest challenges that emerges is the theory-practice mismatch. Most enterprises know the solution but don’t know what it is to deploy in a production ready environment. But with Sunny on our side the client knew that good old WYSIWYG can be confidently applied. All the potential of the OpenShift environment that they deployed was available to them to experience. Building it, Sunny helped the client experience the power of “next” in the Kubenetes environment that allows it to auto-manage a range of functionalities such as load balancers and firewalls. When talking about the challenges that he overcame in this unique deployment, Sunny highlights how “bridging the gap between the application and the infrastructure, and OpenShift’s design and deployment” was critical. If speed is the name of the transformation game, Sunny was the man for it. What was tasked for 3 months got done in a month. That’s not something you see too often! With great modesty he says that “COVID-19 made this faster.” The OpenShift deployment has cemented the relationship with CSL – a fact that goes beyond meeting business goals and bottom lines. When asked where this tech-lover is headed next, pat comes the answer: “Data Center technologies that focus on performance, scalability and availability, along with some deep dive into User Experience, and of course Machine Leaning and Data Science”. And for someone equally versatile in his love for cooking, photography, arts, basketball and take a breath… Cahun, there’s little left to indulge. That’s a total polymath for you.
