Internal Circulation Only 60 Going to the end of the world tomanage endpoints better As EY got itself ready to move 300,000 users from Citrix End Point Management to Microsoft InTune, Srikanth was busy processing how this migration can be made easy. And automation was the obvious solution. The sheer heterogeneity of EY’s infrastructure needed the intelligence of a super-smart technology aka automation that guaranteed security and supported productivity. The heterogeneity included challenges like moving on premise infrastructures to the cloud, without compromising EY’s rigorous security and compliance posture. Automation was not just an option, it was a necessity and Srikanth knew this. Intune had stale devices that had to be removed to maintain the client’s security posture. A clean-up activity was step 1. While Intune was already there in parts across the organization, the agenda now was to move it to the entire organization. Srikanth’s automation scripts were designed to manage scale with ease. Key success metrics included the deletion of more than 60,000 stale devices with an automated system that until then was a manual activity. Srikanth’s automation scripts made a significant impact across every dimension of the migration with a high focus on backup and restoration of InTune configurations. Added to that the volume of confidential and sensitive data that we were entrusted with was huge, and it was our responsibility to ensure its integrity was maintained. As the most legit InTune architect on the project, Srikanth became the default reach out for every automation need for Microland and EY. “While BAU was repetitive, the script and automation work was fun,” is how Srikanth recounts his experience. And as we signed up more projects, Srikanth’s scripts continued to make a positive impression on the client, showcasing us as the “automation experts”. Srikanth’s expertise on InTunes reached a point where he could spot bugs in the platform and raise it back with Microsoft. While “automation is very tempting, there is need to control the excitement,” says Srikanth with an air of absolute maturity about the need to be true solution providers and not just tech deployment enthusiasts. That is a powerful insight on “making digital happen”! Outside of work Srikanth loves the camera through his hobby in photography, and enjoys his passion for screenwriting and critiquing movies. Srikanth Pavankumar K This Digital Warrior automated the end point management process for EY. This reduced significantly effort and errors vis-à- vis the earlier manual validation that was part of the enterprise mobility management process. The automation also helped expeditiously eliminate stale devices and enhanced the organization’s Security and Compliance posture.”
