At the moment, back in his hometown of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, he is busy re-connecting to his roots as a traditional farmer of black rice. If you thought Thanjavur was only known for its 11th century temples and exquisite Thanjavur paintings, think again. Thanjavur is in the middle of the paddy belt and rice is almost a parallel religion here. Don’t be surprised if Natarajan builds out a solution using drones that fly around to identify gall midge paddy pests – which he operates from his home in Bengaluru.
