Microland Digital Warriors | 21 © MICROLAND LIMITED 2020. Internal Circulation Only 20 In it for the challenge IIoT was new for Microland. And for Ashish, Microland was new. As part of the team that kicked off delivery on our IIoT practice, Ashish brought with him his years of IIoT experience in large complex organizations to build a compelling case for our practice. What excited him the most about the Microland opportunity was how we had blended the solutioning and the delivery: “We work like a start-up, agile and small with a lot of hands-on and all of it to show revenue.” Ashish onboarded just when we started our first Smart factory implementation with TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited and New Balance. His first job: To stabilize the team with some aggressive hiring. This created a unique situation as our newly minted Microlander pitched our newest capability. IIoT wasn’t a space we were traditionally known for. Therefore, it wasn’t easy to find people to buy into our vision. But when someone’s in it for the challenge, there’s no mountain hard to climb. In no time, we had a team of 20 new Microlanders, each with niche skills across data science, industrial engineering and multiple IOT platforms. Ashish’s next mission was to move to a multi-partner environment. This is not easy when you are just starting off. While we started with PTC’s ThinkWorx, moving to Azure seemed easy. Today, our Azure “Remote Monitoring Solutions” are Microsoft co-sell ready. Things happen easily when you’ve got the right team on your side. And for Ashish, the team was just right. When ACG, the world’s only integrated pharmaceutical solutions and manufacturing company, wanted to build its ecosystem of connected products and connected operations, Ashish’s deep expertise was a deal clincher. ACG was a company that wasn’t just using IIoT internally but also as an offering for the industry. Ashish led the company’s portfolio transition to its “Platform as a Service” ambition and positioned Microland as the “been- there-done-that” player in the space. “For Microland, IIoT is the biggest opportunity,” he exclaims. Microlanders like Ashish make that opportunity real. And for someone who hobbies in photography, every moment in Microland seems like a great moment to capture and treasure. Ashish Joshi This Digital Warrior has been at the fore-front of engineering several IIoT solutions using best-in-class IIoT platforms. The blueprints and solutions developed will ensure improved factory productivity and safety, while reducing operating costs. He also led the architecture design of a unique “Smart Connected Pharma Machine” platform.”
