Just when you think you have it all planned…boom! One oversight can wreck things. It’s that landmine that Amit decided to tame. And tame he did with his very own “Digital Transition Toolkit”. The other thing about transitions is that there’s a haze of fuzziness about it. What seems like a simple process of the baton moving from one hand to the other is often complicated by the nature of the teams involved in the handover. It is riddled by subjective challenges. Amit’s toolkit helped replace subjectivity with objectivity. The toolkit relied on good old WYSISYG—what you see is what you get! It delivered a clear logbook of every minute detail on the transition, so nothing gets missed. And what’s missed gets logged. Custom created on MS Project Online, Sharepoint and Power BI, Amit’s toolkit helps visualize project metrics in real-time and helps gain portfolio insights to manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies. It also provides a seamless ability for the teams to collaborate on documents supporting effective knowledge management. At its simplest level the toolkit enables digital onboarding that was the biggest ask of the new-normal. As people met and teamed digitally, transitions also had to scale up to that new ask. And the greatest proof of value for this toolkit was that very customer on this platform has been “green” from day one translating to a 5-on-5 score across every transition effected on the platform across nearly 20 customers. “Tech to reduce effort and repetition inspires me,” says Amit and the “Digital Transition Toolkit” is a spectacular expression of that intent. A strong process improvement supported by a simple tool deployment has made a big impact. The transition toolkit in its truest sense is a transformation tool as well. And as with all transformations, Amit did have to deal with his share of resistance. But when your purpose is right and your actions are aligned, success is inevitable. By simplifying the toolkit adoption process, Amit ensured he could delight those who doubted. At home, Amit is a gadget geek resisting the temptation to digitalize his other passion— terrace gardening. More technical automation is the next destination for the toolkit, as this digital warrior will stop at nothing. Amit Roy Choudhary This Digital Warrior created an advanced custom software toolkit which in real-time visualizes project metrics to manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies. The toolkit also enabled greater collaboration and effective Knowledge Management.”
